Prometey, London Lions, Paris Basketball join EuroCup for 2022-23 season

The picture is set for the 2022-23 7DAYS EuroCup campaign, with the departures of Virtus Segafredo Bologna, Partizan NIS Belgrade, and Valencia Basket to the Turkish Airlines EuroLeague and the arrivals of new clubs.

Ukrainian champions Prometey are the first new addition to the roster of 20 teams to compete in EuroCup next season. The team expected to practice and play their home games in Riga, Latvia given the ongoing military invasion of Ukraine.

Joining them, London Lions and Cluj Napoca will compete in a EuroLeague Basketball competition for the first time ever.  French side Paris Basketball which just finished its first season in the first division also will make its European debut in 2022-23.

Adding up to the list, Hapoel Tel Aviv returns to EuroCup for the first time since the 2005-06 season to compete under the new format.

As decided by the ECA Shareholders Thursday, Russian clubs will not return to EuroLeague Basketball competitions next season, which means that 2021-22 participants Lokomotiv Kuban Krasnodar are removed from the 20-team lineup.
