Lasting through the one-month contract with Joventut Badalona, Jarrod Jones resurfaced in the free-agent pool.

Jones, 32, was officially released by Badalona Monday. The 7DAYS EuroCup and Spain’s Liga Endesa participant thanked the player for his professionalism and wished him good luck for the future, as noted.

Back to EuroCup, he played in three games of the 2022-23 edition upping his personal total to 55. Producing 7.7 points, 3.0 rebounds, 0.3 assists, and 0.3 steals per contest shaped the statistical contribution in the brief stint. In addition, he put up 6.0 points, 4.0 rebounds, 1.3 steals, 0.3 assists, and 0.3 blocks per ACB game.

Jones finished the previous season in China as a member of CBA’s Zhejiang Lions. Previous stops for the naturalized Hungarian stretched across Europe sending him to Cedevita Olimpija, Darussafaka, AS Monaco, and Pinar Karsiyaka plus VL Pesaro, Szolnoki Olaj, JDA Vichy Clermont Metropole, ASE, Alba Fehervar, and BC Kyiv, since coming out of Ball State in 2012. He was crowned league champion in Slovenia and Hungary. And made a couple of appearances for the Hungary senior national team in the 2019 FIBA World Cup Qualifiers.

Moving forward without Jones on the squad, the team coached by Carles Duran will be looking to build on the 3-1 start in Group A of the EuroCup Regular Season. Up next in Spain’s Liga Endesa is the Catalonia derby versus FC Barcelona, scheduled to be held on November 20, following the international break and three days before the next EuroCup affair.
