As officially confirmed, Dusan Alimpijevic signed a new contract with Frutti Extra Bursaspor and prolonged his stay at the club to 2025.
The Serbian coach took Bursa over on November 24, 2020. In April 2021, he signed a three-year extension contract.
“Big and important moment for this and the people here. I would like to thank our club, everyone, for this opportunity. We’ve done great things together here. Our relationship inside this club showed that it was much more than that, it showed that it was no ordinary coach-club relationship. We have shown that there is something based on mutual love and respect“, Alimpijevic stated after inking new contract.
Last season he led the team to a historical success in the 7Days EuroCup and lost in the final against Virtus Bologna, but Alimpijević won the EuroCup Basketball Coach of the Year award.
After many changes during the summer, the club showed ambition to continue growing. Bursa started the season with a 5-2 score in BSL, and 3-2 in EuroCup.
“We have accomplished great things and this press conference is important to show the relevant goals of both sides. At the same time, it was a mutual step to eliminate some claims about my future, and that’s what we’re here for. It shows its seriousness on both sides. This contract extension is also a declaration that there are more goals and things to be achieved in the future“, the head coach of Bursa added.
