Brazil international Bruno Caboclo becomes is the new member of Ulm. The NBA-experienced player has signed a contract with the German club until the end of the 23/24 season.
The 27-year-old Caboclo is considered a versatile frontcourt player who has experience from 105 NBA games and many international appearances with the Brazilian national team.
Sports director Thorsten is convinced that the 2.06m tall Brazilian can be an important support at both ends of the field:
“We have worked hard and long for Bruno and are happy that it has now worked out. A strong rebounder and shot blocker, he is able to act as a defensive anchor. His versatility will also help us on offense. He can widen the field thanks to his good shooting, and at the same time he is able to cause a stir as a classic center.”
Bruno Caboclo was supposed to be the first Brazilian in orange. Efforts had already been made in March 2020 to sign him – unfortunately without success. Instead, Cristiano Felicio joined Ulm at the OrangeCampus in the summer. After that, there were several attempts to bring Caboclo to the Danube – again in vain. This was followed by the second player from Brazil, Yago Dos Santos. In December Ul started the ultimately successful attempt, this time actively supported by Yago. Most recently, the two had played together in the qualifiers for the 23 World Cup. Bruno Caboclo shined with 15 points and 7.1 rebounds on average. The now 27-year-old has been playing for his home country since 2017, including at the 2019 World Cup in China.
