Prometheus Patras announces the acquisition of American basketball player Joe Thomasson, who joins the team’s roster for the rest of this season.
Thomasson was born on August 16, 1993, in Ohio, United States. This is a player with competitive performances from various countries, whose career has been on the rise in recent years. He started with the NCAA and the Wright State Raiders (2014-16), while his first contact with European basketball came in the 2016-17 season, with Dinamo Bucuresti (2016-17).
He then had a brief stint with the G League and Birmingham Squadron, followed by a three-year stint in the Polish league (2017-20), with Starogard Gdanski (2017-18), Start Lublin (2018-19) and Zielona Gora (2019-20).
Midway through the 2019-20 season he moved to Israel and Gilboa Galil, where he stayed for a year and a half. Last year he played in the ACB for Manresa and put up impressive numbers, with 13.2 points and 3.4 assists per game. After his successful period in Spain, the American moved to Zenit, playing under the guidance of Xavi Pascual.
