Badalona’s offense sinks Cedevita Olimpjia

Joventut Badalona made a 13 – 0 run over five minutes in the fourth period to defeat Cedevita Olimpija 96 – 91 at home and stay in contention for first place in Group A of the EuroCup regular season.

Five Badalona players scored in double figures with Joel Parra leading the charge by dropping 23 points. Simon Birgander had 18 points plus seven rebounds, Guillem Vives dropped 15 points, Kyle Guy scored 14 and Ante Tomic produced 11 points, six assists and five boards. Overall, the hosts had 25 assists and shot 13-26 from the 3-point line in a near-perfect offensive performance.

For yet another game, Cedevita had no problems scoring the ball but didn’t manage to get enough stops, especially down the stretch, to grab a much-needed win. With six minutes to play, the Slovenian team was up 79 – 85 but Badalona then scored 13 unanswered points to get the victory.

Yogi Ferrell posted 25 points plus seven assists and Josh Adams scored 15 for Cedevita.

Denver Nuggets stashed center Ismael Kamagate had a career night in EuroCup after finishing with 16 points, 12 rebounds and two blocks for a game-high 33 PIR as Paris Basketball beat Dolomiti Energia Trento 86 – 75. Thanks to this win, the French team advanced to the playoffs in its first appearance in the competition.

Tyrone Wallace led the offense for the Paris side by scoring a season-high 25 points and dishing out six assists. Darion Atkins led Trento with 16 points plus seven rebounds.

A true spectacle took place in Bursa, as Prometey Slobozhanske defeated Frutti Extra Bursaspor 94-92 in one of the best 7Days EuroCup games this season.

Caleb Agada stole the show, scoring 24 out of his 27 points in nine minutes during the first half, which ended 50-48 in favor of the guests, and his sole-made shot in the second half, with 35 seconds on the clock, was worthy of the victory.

DJ Stephens added 18 points for the winning side, Ondrej Balvin got a double-double with 12 points and rebounds, while Gian Clavell added 14 points.

Derek Needham was the top scorer of Dusan Alimpijevic’s team with 20 points but missed the shot at the buzzer for the win. David Dudzinski added 17, and Zach Auguste 16 points with seven rebounds. Anthony Clemmons also reached double-digits with 13 points.

Arnoldas Kulboka demolished the Buducnost Voli Podgorica defense in Patras with 30 points for an 81-72 win for Promitheas. The Lithuanian forward shot 5-5 on 2-pointers and 5-8 triples to register his most productive performance this season in just 26:35.

Nemanja Dangubic scored 15 for the Greek team, while Dustin Hogue added 13. Erick Green led Buducnost with 16 points, Cameron Reynolds and Petar Popovic added 14 each, while Alpha Kaba got another double-double with 10 points and 14 rebounds.

7Bet-Lietkabelis Panevezys surprised Mincidelice JL Bourg en Bresse with a 92-88 win in another high-scoring game.

Gediminas Orelik shined with 27 points and 6/9 from beyond the arch, while Jamel Morris added 14, and Vytenis Lipkevicius had 11 points for the Lithuanian team.

James Palmer’s 31-point performance didn’t help the French team avoid defeat, while Axel Julien added 14, and Frantzu Massenat 10 points.
