As officially announced by the Slovenian club, Jurica Golemac parted ways with the 7DAYS EuroCup and ABA League side Cedevita Olimpija Ljubljana.
After more than three years on the green-and-white bench, Jurica Golemac will temporarily be replaced by assistant coach Miro Alilovic, who will debut in the EuroCup clash against ratiopharm Ulm.
“Bad games and results in the last period of this season indicated that things inside the team are unfortunately not working as they should. We would like to take this opportunity to thank Jurica for the effort, work, and energy he invested in his work as head coach. We believe that he has a beautiful and successful coaching career ahead of him, and we certainly wish him the best of luck on his further sports and life journey”, Cedevita Olimpija’s director Davor Uzbinec said.
Cedevita Olimpija Ljubljana has been struggling since the beginning of the season and occupies the last place in Group A of the 7DAYS EuroCup with a 3-12 record, being left out of the playoffs. In the ABA League, they are 4th behind Partizan, Crvena Zvezda, and Buducnost with a 14-6 record.
With the Slovenian team, Jurica Golemac has won two Slovenian League championships and the 2022 and 2023 Slovenian Cup, while also leading it to the EuroCup quarterfinals in 2022.
