Joventut and Prometey remain in the top two spots of group A of 7 DAYS EuroCup after round 17. The Ukrainian team could have locked up the top spot but for that to happen Joventut had to lose.
The Spanish team handled business in Italy against Umana Rezer Venice 80-74. Henry Ellenson led Joventut with 18 points, while Ante Tomic added 16 points and seven rebounds. Joventut is now 12-5 as Venece now drops to the fifth sport 9-8.
Prometey Slobozhanske extended its winning streak to 10 games with an 87-96 victory over U-BT Cluj-Napoca at Bt-Arena. The visitors led for the majority of the game, but Cluj bounced back and even grabbed a narrow lead in the last quarter, only for Prometey to respond with a 10-0 run that helped it secure the win. The Group A leaders improved to 13-4 and the already-eliminated Cluj dropped to 5-12.
Caleb Agada led the winning side with 21 points in addition to 5 rebounds and 8 drawn fouls to his name for a PIR of 25. Another four Prometey players registered double-digits in scoring: DJ Kennedy scored 15, Gian Clavell and DJ Stephens added 12 each and Denis Lukashov 11. Emanuel Cate scored 17 points for Cluj, with Andrija Stipanovic and Nemanja Gordic finishing the game with 14 and 12, respectively.
Promitheas Patras took a major step toward earning home-court advantage for the 7DAYS EuroCup Eighthfinals by downing Paris Basketball 84-81. Promitheas improved to 11-6 in Group B and will secure a top-four finish.
Anthony Cowan paced the winners with a club record and a EuroCup season-high 38 points; he made 6 of 8 three-point shots, including the go-ahead three-pointer with 4.3 seconds left. Cowan added 10 free throws. without a miss. Arnoldas Kulbokas added 9 points for the hosts. Tyrone Wallace led Paris with 22 points. Gauthier Denis scored 15 and Jeremy Evans had 10 for the visitors.
Lietkabelis outlasted Bursaspor thanks to Jamel Morris’s game-winning three in the final seconds on Wednesday at Cido Arena 88-85. The hosts won their sixth consecutive game to improve to 10-7 in Group A. Morris led the way with 21 points and 7 assists. Bursaspor led by as many as 10 points early in the third quarter before Morris rallied the hosts. Derek Needham paced the Bursaspor attack with 21 points and 7 assists. The loss dropped Bursaspor’s record to 7-10.

ratiopharm Ulm pulled out a valuable win from the Ekinox when it defeated JL Mincidelice JL Bourg en Bresse 78-86 on Wednesday evening. The visitors set the basis for the victory in the second quarter when they outscored their opponents 1-19 in the last 7 minutes before halftime. Ulm then resisted all Bourg comeback attempts after the break. Ulm improved to 10-7 and will try to secure the home-court advantage for the next stage next week, while Bourg slipped to 8-9 with its sixth loss in a row.
Karim Jallow and Bruno Caboclo paced the winners with 16 points apiece, leading five Ulm scorers in double digits. Joshua Hawley tallied 15 points, 6 boards, and 5 steals, Juan Nunez went for 15 points and 5 assists, and Yago Dos Santos finished with 12 and 5. James Palmer Jr. led Bourg with 22 points and 7 rebounds in 27 minutes, followed by Isiaha Mike and Kevin Koila, who provided 12 and 10 points, respectively, in the losing effort.
Turk Telekom’s win in London finished the round. In a high-paced match, the Turkish side managed to pull out a win 89-84 that clinched home-court advantage in the eighth finals. London (7-10) will finish the regular season in seventh place. Axel Bouteille scored 21 points for Turk Telekom, while Sam Dekker finished the game with 25 points for the Lions.
