Promitheas Patras defeated Mincidelice JL Bourg en Bresse 89-75 at home in the 7Days EuroCup eightfinals, and in the quarterfinals will face Prometey Slobozhanske which previously secured its place with a win over Hamburg Veolia Towers.
Anthony Cowan had a brilliant match and inspired the winning side with a double-double of 20 points and 10 assists, shooting 5/5 from beyond the arch. All that for a PIR 32.
Arnoldas Kulboka also added 20 points, while Joe Thomasson scored 13, George Conditt 12, and Dustin Hogue 10.
For JL Bourg, Jordan Floyd had 16 points, Isaiah Mike 13, and Pierre Pelos had a double-double with 12 points and ten rebounds, while Alexandrea Chassang finished the match scoring 10 points.
Promitheas took control early on and finished the first quarter with a 24:13 lead. The hosts stayed in front throughout the next two periods, but couldn’t shake off the persisting JL Bourg. Still, the guests never really threatened the advantage of the Greek side, which then finally took off in the final minutes and finished the game in style.
