Michael Bramos officially retires from basketball

Following a 14-year career in Europe which started after coming out of Ohio’s Miami University, Michael Bramos has officially announced his retirement from basketball. He last played in Game 4 of the LBA Quarter-Finals series against Dinamo Sassari, as Reyer Venice got eliminated.

The 36-year-old small forward, who had his first overseas experience with Peristeri in 2009, also wore the jerseys of Gran Canaria (2010-12) and Panathinaikos (2012-14) before moving to Venice and falling in love with the Italian city. With Reyer, he won 2 Italian championships, 1 Italian Cup, and 1 FIBA Europe Cup, while with the Greens he had 2 Greek championships and 2 Greek cups. This season, he has been averaging 7.1 points and 2.7 rebounds, shooting 46% from deep, in the 7DAYS EuroCup.

“Thank you for your 389 games with our colors, first of all in the history of the Club, always played with the same commitment and determination. Thank you for your availability, your smile, and the example you have always transmitted to everyone, from the smallest to the largest. Thank you for being the Champion you are, and for always putting the group and the common good first”, Federico Casarin said in an official press release.

“Now a new chapter of your life begins and for us, it will not be like before, we wish you the best for you and your family and we know that you will face all the challenges of life with the same determination and positivity that you have always brought to the gym. Your name is already a legend. We’ll miss you, but this is and always will be your home. We look forward to celebrating you as you deserve, thank you Michael”, Reyer Venice’s president continued.
