The 206-centimeter-tall Amadou Sow, who spent the 2022/23 season in Blois, is moving from the French league to Ljubljana’s Cedevita Olimpija.
The member team of Cedevita Olimpija is stronger in high playing positions for Malian basketball player Amadou Sow, who is moving to Stožice in Ljubljana from the French national championship, where he wore the Blois jersey in the 2022/23 season. Born in Bamako, Mali, Sow studied at the University of California, Santa Barbara, and graduated from Napa Christian High School before that. He signed a two-year contract with Cedevita Olimpija.
Cedevita Olimpija thus introduced the third reinforcement of this summer, and Sow will join newcomers Justus Hollatz and Aleksandar Šaškov in the Dragon’s Nest.
After four years in the jersey of the American college team, Gauchos from the University of California, Santa Barbara, Amadou Sow spent the 2022/23 season in the jersey of the French team Blois, where he averaged 13.8 points in 32 games, 5,2 rebounds and 1.1 assists per game, while shooting 53.8 percent from the field and 41.9 percent from three points.
In Santa Barbara, his scoring average never went below 12, and he averaged 15.6 points, 8.4 rebounds, and 0.7 assists per game last season. Already in the 2018/19 season, his first in college, he was ranked in the second five All-Big West, and he then repeated the same in the 2019/20 season. In total, Sow played in 117 college games, starting 115 of them in the starting lineup, and averaged 13.8 points and 7.4 rebounds per game.
