As officially announced by Gran Canaria, the 33-year-old American forward John Shurna will continue playing with Jaka Lakovic’s side at least until the end of the 2024-25 season, with the option for another year already in the deal.
He had an incredible run in the EuroCup, averaging 11.7 points, 3.6 rebounds, and 1.3 assists while shooting with incredible percentages: 59.0% from two, 48.5% from three, and 86.5% at the charity stripe. In the last game of the European season, he put up 18 points, 3 rebounds, and 1 assist, shooting 4/6 from two and 3/5 from beyond the arc.
He was one of the main reasons why the Canarian side managed to lift the EuroCup trophy, being named MVP of the Final against Turk Telekom Ankara and being inserted into the All-EuroCup First Team. However, he won’t play EuroLeague as the team withdrew from the main European competition.

Ismael Kamagate leaves Paris Basketball
As rumored for weeks, the 22-year-old French talent Ismael Kamagate has officially left Paris Basketball. He won’t be playing in the 7DAYS EuroCup next season, and Denver Nuggets head coach Mike Malone has already expressed his desire to see him in the NBA. However, in the official announcement by the Parisian club, it was said he will “play in the best European competition”.
Aris will play in the European competition in 2023-24, and they will do so with the help of Silvio De Sousa. The 24-year-old Angolan center is coming off his first season in the Old Continent with Chorale Roanne, averaging 8.9 points and 4.9 rebounds per game while shooting 61.5% from two-point range.
The 2022-23 runner-up Turk Telekom Ankara, which lost Erdem Can, Tyrique Jones, and Erkan Yilmaz, has officially added to its rotation the former Manisa player Troy Selim Sav. In last year’s BSL, he had 7.4 points and 4.8 rebounds per game in 18 appearances after leaving Konyaspor.
