The London Lions signed forward/center Gabe Olaseni, the club announced. It’s the first acquisition of the British side ahead of the 2023-24.
Olaseni will play in his native Great Britain for the first time in his career after being a journeyman in European basketball since 2015. He was last a member of Turkish team Darussafak Istanbul.
In 2022-23, Olaseni averaged 14.8 points, 6.9 rebounds and 1.8 assists in 30.7 minutes over 13 Basketball Champions League games to help Darussafaka reach the Round of 16. In the Turkish BSL, he played 32 games, posting 12.7 points, 7.4 points and 1.5 assists in 30.1 minutes as his team made the playoffs.
The Lions, who are competing in EuroCup for a second straight season, have also secured the services of star Sam Dekker, since he signed a contract extension through 2026.
