After six years together, Reyer Venice and Mitchell Watt parted ways, as officially announced by the Italian club. Therefore, after four consecutive EuroCup seasons with the red-and-gold side, the 32-year-old American center will find a new team during the summer.
In the 2022-23 EuroCup season, Mitchell Watt averaged 12.3 points, 4.9 rebounds, and 1.3 assists per game, shooting 59.4% from two and 66.7% at the free throw line. In the LBA, instead, he had 13.0 points and 5.5 rebounds per game in 31 appearances with Reyer. Previously, the Buffalo Bulls product played for ALBA Berlin as well in the 2015-16 EuroCup campaign.
“Mitchell is one of those players who have made the history of this club. He will always have a prominent place in our club, not only for what he has done on the court with his performances and the goals he has achieved, which we have all witnessed but above all for the moral and human values that have always distinguished him. On behalf of all Umana Reyer, I thank him and wish him the best of luck, in sport, but above all in life”, Reyer Venice’s president Federico Casarin commented on his departure.
