After one single season away from Slovenia, Jaka Blazic and Cedevita Olimpija Ljubljana are now back together, as officially announced by the green-and-orange BKT EuroCup participant.
Playing alongside Jamar Smith and Jerry Boutsiele in Bahcesehir, the 33-year-old Slovenian small forward averaged only 5.5 points and 1.6 rebounds in last year’s Basketball Champions League, reaching the Round of 16 with Telekom Baskets Bonn, Rytas Vilnius, and BAXI Manresa.
Jaka Blazic will now come back to the BKT EuroCup, playing in Group A with Hapoel Vegan-Friendly Tel Aviv, Joventut Badalona, Paris Basketball, Umana Reyer Venice, BC Wolves, Besiktas, Veolia Hamburg Towers, Prometey, and London Lions.
The Slovenian veteran is also present in his national team’s 20-man preliminary roster ahead of the 2023 FIBA World Cup, alongside names like Luka Doncic, Klemen Prepelic, Vlatko Cancar, and Mike Tobey. They will face Cape Verde, Georgia, and Venezuela in Okinawa’s Group F.
Before moving to Cedevita Olimpija Ljubljana in 2019, Jaka Blazic played also in the EuroLeague with Crvena Zvezda, Baskonia, and Barcelona. In the 2017-18 season, he wore the jersey of Andorra.
