The head coach of Ukrainian team Prometey Slobozhanske, Ronen Ginzburg, was stuck in Israel during the Hamas attack. He had gone to his native country to attend his son’s wedding.
The club’s president, Volodymyr Dubinskiy, assured everyone that Ginzburg was fine, and recently provided information that he had successfully traveled to Istanbul, where Prometey will face Besiktas in Round 2 of the BKT EuroCup on 10/10.
“Long and tough road, but everything is good,” Volodymyr Dubinskiy wrote, per Oleksandr Proshuta.
Prometey’s squad will be joining Ginzburg in Istanbul after a several-hour flight from Riga, as usual.
The Ukrainian side won the first EuroCup match of the season 97-77 against Veolia Towers Hamburg, and will face Turkish side Besiktas, who defeated Joventut in Badalona 62-63.
