After two in the EuroLeague, the first coaching change occurred in BKT EuroCup, with Turk Telekom Ankara parting ways with the Serbian tactician Nenad Canak.
“We would like to thank Nenad Canak, who served as the head coach of Turk Telekom Basketball Team in the new season, for his services so far and his contribution to our team,” stated the official announcement.
Canak took over from Erden Can last summer, but a 1-2 start to the 2023-24 BKT EuroCup Regular Season led to a change on the team’s bench. Turk Telekom also posted a 2-2 record in the Turkish League under Coach Canak.
Last season, the 47-year-old tactician guided 7Bet-Lietkabelis Panevezys to a 10-8 regular-season record in the EuroCup before being eliminated in the eighthfinals by Paris Basketball. He had spent five years in charge of Lietkabelis (2018-23), while he previously coached MKK Spartak Subotica and Partizan Mozzart Bet Belgrade in the 2017-18 campaign.
