From the NBA to Australia, Tyler Cook puts Europe on his radar. He will be playing for Joventut Badalona in the BKT EuroCup and Spain’s Liga Endesa.
Cook, 26, penned a contract for the remainder of the season, the team announced on Thursday.
The versatile power forward started the 2023-24 campaign with South East Melbourne Phoenix in Oceania’s NBL. He averaged 13.0 assists and 7.0 rebounds per game over three appearances. Suffering an eye injury halted the first overseas experience in early October.
The Iowa product registered 66 appearances in the NBA between brief spells with the Detroit Pistons, Chicago Bulls, Cleveland Cavaliers, Brooklyn Nets, and Denver Nuggets. After focusing on development through the NBA and G League until the end of the 2022-23 season, he landed in Australia and made his way to the team based in Catalonia.
Replacing forward/center Chinanu Onuaku, Cook meets the team coached by Carles Duran underperforming early in the season. At 3-4 in the EuroCup Regular Season and 4-5 in the ACB, three losses in a row across the continental and domestic level paint the picture on the most recent outings.
Prometey lands Rob Gray
Tied with Badalona at 3-4, Prometey announced the signing of Rob Gray on Thursday. The 29-year-old shooting guard was the Finals MVP pushing AS Monaco to the 2020-21 EuroCup championship. He is back in the second-tier club continental competition of Euroleague Basketball, carrying the experience of 17 games played between La Roca Team and Metropolitans 92.
After logging eight games played in the 2021-22 edition of the Turkish Airlines EuroLeague and parting ways with Monaco, he spent the 2022-23 season with Tofas. At the Bursa outfit, he displayed his scoring talents in the Basketball Champions League and Turkiye Sigorta Basketbol Super Ligi.
