Hapoel Shlomo Tel Aviv will join Hapoel Bank Yahav Jerusalem and Maccabi Playtika Tel Aviv as the third Israeli team to temporarily relocate to Belgrade and play its EuroCup games in the Aleksandar Nikolic Hall, as approved by Euroleague Basketball.
Hapoel will play its first home game there against Joventut Badalona on November 22 at 19:00 local time.
This decision follows Euroleague Basketball’s request to find an alternative arena outside of Israel to host its upcoming BKT EuroCup home games due to the impossible nature of hosting games in Tel Aviv amid security concerns arising from the ongoing armed conflict in the area. All Hapoel Tel Aviv home games played in Belgrade will take place behind closed doors until further notice, as decided by Euroleague Basketball.
Hapoel Shlomo Tel Aviv has received support from the Belgrade Municipality and the Serbian Government and will implement necessary security measures to protect the integrity of all individuals, which remains the ultimate priority for Euroleague Basketball and its clubs.
Euroleague Basketball will continue to monitor the situation’s evolution, stay in contact with all related parties, and announce any modifications regarding the above decisions if necessary.
