The London Lions extended their undefeated record in EuroCup road games to 5-0 by storming past Wolves Vilnius 101 – 87. Not only did the British side took their seventh win this season in the competition but also saw star forward Sam Dekker returning to action after Round 4.
Dekker finished with nine points in 15:31 minutes while the duo of Conor Morgan and Gabe Olaseni were dominant for a second straight EuroCup game. Morgan had multiple career-highs: 22 points, five (out of eight) triples and 36 PIR plus six rebounds and Olaseni finished with 21 points plus five boards, compiling an unstoppable combo for the Lions.
We matched their physicality well tonight. We came out with a lot of energy,” said Morgan. London coach Petar Bozic expressed his satisfaction with both the win and Dekker’s comeback. “He [Dekker] is one of the leaders on our team. We are fortunate that we have more. It was really a pleasure seeing him back on the court.”
From the Vilnius side, Treshawn Thurman scored 22 points and got eight rebounds.
Too much Reyer Venezia for the Hamburg Towers. Behind 22 points plus nine assists by Marco Spissu, the Italian team prevailed 94 – 77 to bounce back to wins and improve at 4-5.
Amedeo Tessitori contributed 18 points for Venezia. Aljami Durham led the Towers with 17 points and five assists.
