Returning to Europe following a brief spell in China’s CBA, Yogi Ferrell joined Buducnost VOLI.
Partizan Mozzart Bet was reportedly interested in securing his services, but the Podgorica outfit announced his addition on Wednesday.
Ferrell, 30, is set to add on his experience in the BKT EuroCup. He carries 32 appearances with Cedevita Olimpija in the 2021-22 and 2022-23 editions of the 7DAYS EuroCup, highlighted by leading all scorers in the latter season. Introducing himself to the Old Continent before moving to the team based in Ljubljana, he logged five games played in the Turkish Airlines EuroLeague with Panathinaikos.
Coming out of a four-year run in the NCAA with Indiana, he went undrafted in 2016 but made his way to 268 NBA games from 2016 to 2021. Moving around the league, spells stretched to the Los Angeles Clippers, Cleveland Cavaliers, Sacramento Kings, Dallas Mavericks, and Brooklyn Nets. In the G League, he played for the Salt Lake City Stars and Long Island Nets.
Starting the ongoing season with the Shanghai Sharks, he tallied 15.0 points, 5.8 assists, 4.6 rebounds, and 1.2 steals per contest. In the next step, he will be looking to help Buducnost improve the current record of 3-5 in Group B of the EuroCup Regular Season and the 6-3 W-L tally in the AdmiralBet ABA League.
His new teammates are Allerik Freeman, Andrija Grbovic, Aleksa Ilic, Marko Jagodic-Kuridza, Marvin Jones, Fletcher Magee, Yoan Makoundou, Vladimir Mihailovic, Brandon Paul, Petar Popovic, Colbey Ross, Andrija Slavkovic, JaCorey Williams, and McKinley Wright IV.
