After the arrival of the 37-year-old Serbian head coach Dusan Alimpijevic from Bursaspor in the summer, Besiktas has been one of the best teams in the whole BKT EuroCup, tied at the 4th place in Group A at 6-5, behind Paris Basketball, Hapoel Tel Aviv, and London Lions.
The goal of the black-and-white Turkish team, and it makes sense, is to make the jump to the EuroLeague landscape, and after the recent club’s elections, the current president of the team Hasan Arat declared officially what should be the future of Besiktas.
At the beginning of 2024, in fact, the Turkish club will begin the negotiation with the upper floor of European basketball. “In January, we will be in talks with [the former president of Bahcesehir] Hüseyin Yücel to get a wildcard to the EuroLeague. Hopefully, the merger of Besiktas and Bahcesehir will happen. This is a big project”, he commented about a new era for both Besiktas and Bahcesehir.
