Euroleague’s Independent Appeals Panel reduced Anton Ponkrashov’s fine by 10.000 euros, however the sanction of a four-game suspension was left in place.
The Russian guard had been suspended by the Independent Disciplinary Judge for four games and (had been) fined 40.000 euros for striking Aris Thessaloniki player Vassilis Symtsak in the face and neck, with the Greek team’s player leaving the game wearing a neck brace.
Ponkrashov has already served two games of his four-game ban and the remaining two will correspond to the first two rounds of Eurocup’s Last 32.
