Playing for Prometey in the 2022-23 season, spending a total of 30:23 minutes in the EuroCup over four appearances, Marek Klassen couldn’t leave the most memorable mark in the competition, averaging only 1.8 points, 1.2 rebounds, and 2.0 assists per game.
Now, the 30-year-old playmaker came back to the BKT EuroCup by signing for Slask Wroclaw, which currently occupied the last spot in the standings with a 1-12 record. He started the season in Greece, playing for Karditsa. “I had a buy-out option included in my contract and I took into account that I could change the environment during the season. The buy-out started in mid-December and I already knew about offers from various clubs”, he first commented.
Undrafted in 2015, he then started a long overseas career that brought him to several teams all over Europe. One of the most successful experiences he had came in the 2022-23 Basketball Champions League, averaging 14.6 points, 3.6 rebounds, and 8.8 assists per game with Nymburk.
