Nadir Hifi scored 10 out of his team-high 17 points in the last three minutes to push Paris Basketball to an 89 – 82 win over Joventut Badalona. The French side continues its crazy EuroCup run, now at 16 – 1 while their opponents dropped to 10 – 7.
Hifi went off down the stretch after his team fell behind 70 – 76 with five minutes remaining. He tied the game at 79 and then hit back-to-back 3-pointers, including one from way downtown to put Paris up 87 – 82 with 1:20 to play.
After a miss by Badalona, Hifi then drove past his defenders and sealed the outcome with a layup. Collin Malcolm and Tyson Ward contributed 15 points plus seven rebounds apiece to Paris’ victory.
Andres Feliz had a strong all-around performance of 20 points, seven assists and six rebounds for Badalona that came close to defeating an almost unbeatable team in EuroCup but fell short down the stretch. Shannon Evans scored 17.
Ratiopharm Ulm advanced to the playoffs thanks to a 84 – 80 away win over Buducnost in overtime. The hosts came back from down 14 points in the fourth period and went up 71 – 70 with 80 seconds to play but couldn’t finish the job.
LJ Figueroa had 24 points plus five rebounds for Ulm while Yogi Ferrell led Buducnost with 15 points plus eight assists.
