Prometey Slobozhanske crushed Aris Thessaloniki 95 – 67 to become the second team to advance to the 2024 EuroCup quarterfinals. The Ukrainian team will face JL Bourg en Bresse at the latter’s home court in a knockout game.
Five players scored in double figures for Prometey in a dominant all-around performance from start to finish. Caleb Agada, Gian Clavell and Ivan Tkachenko led the pack with 16 points apiece, Ronald March added 15 points plus seven assists and Ondrej Balvin contributed 12 points plus nine rebounds.
Prometey entered the game with a 28 – 17 advantage in the first period and simply never looked back, going ahead 51 – 32 at halftime as Aris was unable to respond. The Greek side trailed even by 31 points, 87 – 56, in the third period.
Ronnie Harrell (20 points, seven rebounds) and Vassilis Toliopoulos (13 points on 1-7 threes, five rebounds) stood out from Aris that shot 20 percent on threes and committed 19 turnovers.
