After appointing Stefanos Dedas as head coach and adding Isaiah Miles to the team, Hapoel Tel Aviv made another addition by signing Tyler Ennis.
The 29-year-old guard played in Italy with Napoli this season, averaging 13.9 points, 6.8 assists, and 1.8 steals, and led the team to a historic triumph in the Italian Cup.
“Tyler is coming to help us in a critical period with a sequence of decisive games in a short time. He will add experience to us and allow our guards to rest. I know him very well from the Turkish league, and beyond the fact that he is a great player, he brings with him professionalism and character. His fit with the team and his contribution will help us achieve the victories we need,” coach Dedas said about the latest signing.
Former No. 18 NBA draft pick played for the Milwaukee Bucks, Los Angeles Lakers, and Houston Rockets before coming to Europe and signing with Fenerbahce. An injury stopped him from shining in Istanbul, and later he donned the jerseys of Turk Telekom and Tofas in Turkey before going to Naples.
“This signing, as well as the recent signings of Miles and Dedas, prove our commitment not to give up even in difficult times. Tyler is an excellent and experienced player, in a position we need. Together with the rest of the excellent staff, we will do everything to finish the season in the best way,” team Chairman Rami Cohen added.
