Erdem Can to reportedly come back to Turk Telekom Ankara

It hasn’t been the easiest of seasons for Erdem Can, who got fired by Anadolu Efes midway through the season to be replaced by Tomislav Mijatovic, who led the side to the EuroLeague Play-In and got rewarded with a two-year contract extension.

After going close to success in last year’s BKT EuroCup, losing to Gran Canaria in the Final, this was a rough season for Turk Telekom Ankara as well, concluding the season following a 23-point defeat against the London Lions in the Eight-Finals.

According to what was reported by Çağlar Torun and confirmed by Eurohoops sources, the two sides are set to reunite. The Turkish head coach will come back leading the team in the BKT EuroCup in 2024-25, returning where he found great success before moving up to the EuroLeague.

Erdem Can, who was born in Ankara in 1980, became the team’s head coach after serving as an assistant coach there from 2008 to 2010. He did the same with Fenerbahce (2012-21), with the Turkish national team (2017), and with the Utah Jazz (2021-22). Then, he replaced Ergin Ataman in Efes but wasn’t successful.
