Turkish shooting guard Yigit Arslan committed to a second season with Besiktas Emlakjet.
Arslan, 28, announced his contract extension in a message to fans via his personal Instagram account on Thursday. Remaining with the team based in Istanbul, he is heading to his fifth expedition in the BKT EuroCup, including reaching the Semifinals of the 2023-24 edition of Euroleague Basketball’s second-tier club continental competition with the Black Eagles. His contribution amounted to 6.5 points, 3.2 rebounds, 1.2 assists, and 0.3 steals per contest over 22 appearances, including three features in the starting lineup of Dusan Alimpijevic.
The Besiktas captain added 7.5 points, 2.5 rebounds, 1.4 assists, and 0.5 steals per game in the Turkiye Sigorta Basketbol Super Ligi. His side made it to the Semifinals of the BSL Playoffs and fell to Fenerbahce Beko in a three-game sweep.
Elsewhere in the projected field for the 2024-25 installment of EuroCup, Buducnost VOLI extended the contract of Fletcher Magee until the end of the 2025-26 season on Wednesday. A member of the Podgorica outfit since 2020, the former sharpshooter of Wofford in his NCAA days made his way to 13 games of the previous EuroCup season. He put up 6.3 points and 1.5 rebounds per contest. In the AdmiralBet ABA League, he averaged 9.0 points per game with 45% from beyond the arc.
Also, the Veolia Towers Hamburg picked up Benedikt Turudic from Telekom Baskets Bonn. The 27-year-old forward/center inked a two-year contract, the team announced on Thursday.
