Aris lands Mantzoukas and Hapoel Tel Aviv adds Yaacov

Greek international forward Lefteris Mantzoukas will play for Aris Midea in the 2024-25 installment of BKT EuroCup. On Friday, the Thessaloniki outfit confirmed his addition for the next season via loan from Panathinaikos Aktor.

Mantzoukas, 20, will return to the second-tier club continental competition of EuroLeague Basketball following 13 appearances with Promitheas across the 2019-20 and 2020-21 seasons. Over the next three campaigns, he continued development with the Greens, logging 53 features in the Turkish Airlines EuroLeague, including 1.9 points and 1.0 rebounds per contest over 14 games in the 2023-24 championship run for the team coached by Ergin Ataman. In Greece’s Stoiximan Basket League, he put in 4.0 points and 2.1 rebounds per game securing yet another title.

In earlier offseason moves, Aris re-signed Vassilis Toliopoulos and landed three new players in the form of Manos Chatzidakis, David DeJulius, and Giorgos Gkiouzelis.

Hapoel Tel Aviv lands Noam Yaacov

Elsewhere in the EuroCup pack, Hapoel Shlomo Tel Aviv announced a fifth summer signing, securing the services of 19-year-old point guard Noam Yaacov on Friday.

From 26 appearances with LDLC ASVEL Villeurbanne in the 2023-24 Regular Season of the EuroLeague and four appearances with Hapoel Bank Yahav Jerusalem in the 2022-23 Basketball Champions League, the next challenge expand his career to the EuroCup. With ASVEL, the Israeli international averaged 2.2 points and 1.3 assists per EuroLeague contest.

Boosting the roster, Oz Blayzer, Johnathan Motley, Joe Ragland, and Guy Palatin were the previous arrivals for the Israeli club.
