Ricky Rubio paused his career last summer and returned to action in February this year, signing a deal with Barcelona.
After spending the second half of last season in Palau Blaugrana, the experienced Spanish point guard is returning to Joventut Badalona, as Jordi Valle Simo of EFE Deportes reports.
“Ricky Rubio says ‘yes’ to Joventut, and his return home 15 years later is about to become a reality,” as reported. The former player later refuted the report, tweeting, “What a busy day you’ve given me, Jordi. I hope the next one is for telling the truth.”

Rubio started his professional career with Joventut in 2005 and spent his first four years in Badalona before moving to Barcelona. He’s about to close the circle and play for Joventut after a second stint with Barca.
Therefore, the No.5 2009 NBA draft pick will continue playing in the ACB League and return to the BKT EuroCup, a competition he already won with Joventut in 2008.
Last season, he made 13 EuroLeague appearances and averaged 17 minutes on the court, posting 4.7 points, 4.3 assists, and 3.2 rebounds. He also played 15 Liga Endesa games for Barcelona, scoring six points, 4.1 assists, and 3.1 rebounds.
