Trefl Sopot lands Tarik Phillip, Aris adds Josh Roberts

Carrying the experience of 45 games played in the BKT EuroCup, 31-year-old guard Tarik Phillip signed a one-year contract with Trefl Sopot.

Playing for the London Lions over the last two years, his stint included averaging 9.0 points per contest in the 2023-24 edition of the EuroCup. The Brooklyn native logged nine more appearances with Umana Reyer Venice in 2021-22 and 16 with Tofas in 2020-21. More experience stems from the 2022 FIBA Intercontinental Cup with Hereda San Pablo Burgos. With Hapoel Bank Yahav Jerusalem and Tofas, he made 12 appearances in the Basketball Champions League. He also represented Great Britain in the Qualifiers of the 2019 and 2023 FIBA World Cup and the 2022 EuroBasket.

Moving his talents to the Polish club, he meets Aaron Best, Geoffrey Groselle, Bartosz Jankowski, Trey McGowens, Jakub Schenk, Andy Van Vliet, Mikolaj Witlinski, and Jaroslaw Zyskowski on the roster.

Josh Roberts signs with Aris

From Group A to Group B of the 2024-25 Regular Season, Aris Midea welcomed 25-year-old Josh Roberts, a EuroCup rookie. After splitting his first professional campaign between Australia and New Zealand, the former Manhattan and St. John’s standout switched to Greece. His new teammates are Lefteris Bochoridis, Manos Chatzidakis, David DeJulius, Giorgos Giouzelis, D’Moi Hodge, Nate Laszewski, Lefteris Mantzoukas, Mike Miles Jr., Landers Nolley II, and Vassilis Toliopoulos.

Meanwhile, Hapoel Bank Yahav Jerusalem penned 18-year-old Rany Belaga to a four-year contract and loaned him to A.S. Ramat HaSharon for the next season.
