Hapoel Tel Aviv has signed several notable players during the 2023 offseason so far and is now appearing to target another big goal: Bruno Caboclo.
According to Sport 5, Hapoel Tel Aviv has made an offer of around $3.4 million (gross) for two years to Caboclo. The Brazilian big man has until Tuesday (19/8) to give his answer to the club, as the team has already begun training camp for the new season and wants to finalize the roster as soon as possible.
This is quite the sum since it seems unlikely that Caboclo will be able to get that money from any other team in Europe right now.
Caboclo is signed by Partizan Belgrade for the upcoming season but he wants to leave the team according to his agent. The player was also reported to be pursuing an NBA deal before the Olympic Games.
During the Olympics, Caboclo averaged 17.3 points and 7.0 rebounds. He had an epic performance of 33 points and 17 rebounds in a win over Japan that pushed Brazil to the quarterfinals. Caboclo then scored 30 points against Team USA but his team fell 87 – 122.
Hapoel Tel Aviv made headlines earlier in the summer when the team signed NBA veteran guard Patrick Beverley. The Israeli EuroCup side has also added EuroLeague standout center Johnathan Motley and former NBA forward Ish Wainwright.
