Besiktas has extended an offer to veteran NBA center Boban Marjanovic according to Meridian Sport.

Marjanovic is still a free agent after completing the 2023-24 season with the Houston Rockets. In August, the Serbian big man mentioned that he’s waiting for an NBA offer while having other potential options on the table.

If Besiktas managed to sign Marjanovic, then the 36-year-old player will return to Europe for the first time after 2015. He then played for Serbian powerhouse Crvena Zvezda, finishing the season as a member of the All-EuroLeague First Team and the competition’s rebounding leader.

Besiktas will compete in the 2024-25 EuroCup apart from the Turkish BSL League. An important factor that may increase the possibility of the club landing Marjanovic, is the presence of Serbian coach Dusan Alimpijevic at the helm.
