Jared Harper was struggling to find a prominent role in Valencia after leaving the US to start his overseas journey, but now it looks like he has found his space and valuable playing time in Jerusalem.
The American guard was named MVP of Round 2 in the 2024-25 BKT EuroCup after leading Hapoel to the first win of the season, on the road in Lithuania against Lietkabelis. He had a tough shooting night (3/13 from the field) but still scored 16/17 at the line for 23 points.
He also added “5 assists, a block, a rebound, and a steal, while drawing 10 fouls and accumulating a PIR of 27”, as EuroCup’s press release says on the matter. Jared Harper, moreover, has now “the record for most free throws made in a single game in more than a decade”.
So far in his first two encounters against his former team Valencia and on the road in Lithuania in the BKT EuroCup this season, the 27-year-old has been averaging 25.0 points and 3.5 assists per game while shooting 29/30 at the free-throw line, which is an astonishing 96.7%.
