Patrick Beverley decided to join Hapoel Tel Aviv in Israel last summer and has already begun picking up on the local culture, as he took on a 25-hour Yom Kippur fast.
Following a conversation with his Israeli teammates, Beverley decided to try the Yom Kippur fast, which is a holy practice in Judaism. To successfully complete the fast, a person needs to abstain from all food and drinks for 25 hours, lasting from pre-sunset the evening before to post-sunset on Yom Kippur.
Beverley admitted struggling but eventually endured the fast, sharing his experience on social media.
“Mind over everything,” Beverley wrote triumphantly.
