Gran Canaria set a new EuroCup record for the most points scored by a single team in a non-overtime game.
With six players in double figures, Gran Canaria beat Ratiopharm Ulm 125 – 78 to improve to 4-1 in the 2024-25 EuroCup regular season. The Spanish side had 68 points at halftime and nearly reached the 100-point mark 30 minutes into the game, finishing the third quarter up 97 – 60.
Overall, Gran Canaria shot 32 – 44 on 2-pointers, 14-26 threes and 23-27 free throws, finishing the game with 32 assists. Miquel Salvo scored a team-high 20 points while Nicolas Brussino, Caleb Homesley and Jovan Kljajic dropped 13 points apiece.
17-year-old Noa Essengue led Ulm with 20 points. Alfonso Plummer added 15 points for the German team, now 3-2.
Marko Pecarski had 22 points and eight rebounds as Lietkabelis defeated Bourg en Bresse 84 – 80 to hand their opponents their first loss this season in EuroCup. The Serbian big man also scored a key jumper that put his team up 83 – 80 with 23 seconds to play.
Xavier Castaneda and his 23 points plus five assists weren’t enough for Bourg.
In Italy, Reyer Venezia Rodney McGruder had 28 points, four assists and four steals in his EuroCup debut to push his team past the Hamburg Towers 80 – 68.
Jaizec Lottie scored 15 points for the Towers.
Besiktas captured its second straight win by defeating Joventut Badalona 82 – 76. Kyle Allman had 16 points and Jonah Matthews added 11 for the winning side.
Badalona sufferd its second consecutive loss. Ante Tomich notched 17 points, seven rebounds and four assists.
