Ben Bentil was released from his contract with Hapoel Shlomo Tel Aviv on Friday.

Since joining the Israeli club in July, he made two appearances at the top of the 2024-25 edition of the BKT EuroCup and sat out domestic league action. He averaged 4.5 points, 1.0 rebounds, and 1.0 assists over 11:25 per contest in the first two games of the EuroCup Regular Season.

The team coached by Stefanos Dedas went on to a 3-2 record in Group A of the EuroCup Regular Season and is up to 2-0 in Israel’s Winner League.

With Patrick Beverley, Oz Blayzer, Bruno Caboclo, Marcus Foster, Tomer Ginat, Johnathan Motley, Guy Palatin, Joe Ragland, Bar Timor, and Ish Wainright on board, it is unclear whether the Tel Aviv outfit will search the market for a new player.

Bentil, 29, is a veteran of 107 games played in the Turkish Airlines EuroLeague with Panathinaikos, AX Armani Exchange Olimpia Milan, and Crvena Zvezda Meridianbet. He also logged four appearances early in the 2021-22 installment of the FIBA Europe Cup with Bahcesehir Koleji.

A former Providence standout, he was selected with the 51st overall pick of the 2016 NBA draft by the Boston Celtics. He played in three NBA games during the 2016-17 Regular Season as a member of the Dallas Mavericks, before focusing his career in Europe over the next seven years.

On to the next step, the experienced forward/center is considering his options as a free agent.
