By Eurohoops team/ info@eurohoops.net

Tre’Shawn Thurman (19 p.), Andrew Andrews (18 p.), and Marek Blazevic (16 p.) led Wolves Vilnius to a big 93-78 win over Besiktas, as the two teams are now tied in BKT EuroCup Group A standings with a 3-3 record.

Conor Morgan (19 p.) and Derek Needham (19 p.) got no answers in the second half, like the rest of Besiktas.

Besiktas finished the first period with a 7-0 run to lead 26-20 and build a 14-point advantage (36-22) thanks to a partial 17-2 score. A furious 25-6 run by the hosts followed in the next seven minutes as the Wolves closed the first half leading 47-42.

The home side’s dominance continued in the second, as the Wolves started strong and with a 20-5 run made the score 67-47 after six minutes of play. The game was essentially over, the Lithuanian team led by 24 (76-52) and Besiktas couldn’t do much more than trimming the lead to 11 (84-73) with three minutes left, but it was too little, too late.

Hamburg found a way to record their first win of the season by taking down Turk Telekom at home, 89-77. Osaro Rich scored 16 points, while Brae Ivey and Kur Kuath followed with 15 each, Jaizec Lottie added 14, and Kenneth Ogbe contributed 13 points.

Brian Angola stood out for the Turkish side with 21 points, Anthony Brown added 16, and Yoan Makoundou contributed 10 points.

Gran Canaria defeated Joventut in the final seconds of overtime in Badalona, with Nicolas Brussino hitting a crucial three-pointer with eight seconds on the clock. The scoreboard read 78-76 for the visitors.

After Brussino’s triple, Ante Tomic got to the free-throw line, missed the second attempt, and then fouled the Argentinian in the final second. However, Brussino missed both free throws, but Pierre Pelos grabbed an offensive rebound, sealing the game.

Caleb Homesley led the scoring for Gran Canaria with 14 points. Mike Tobey had a double-double with 12 points and 10 rebounds, while Brussino and Andrew Albicy scored 11 points each. The Argentinian grabbed seven rebounds, and the Frenchman dished out seven assists with five steals.

Tomic stood out for Joventut with a strong double-double of 18 points and 15 rebounds. Devon Dotson and Kaiser Gates added 13 points apiece, while Artem Pustovyi also finished in double digits with 12 points.
