From Cedevita Olimpija to Hapoel Bank Yahav Jerusalem, Derek Ogbeide stays in Group B of the 2024-25 BKT EuroCup Regular Season.

Moving to the Israeli club, the 27-year-old center signed a contract for the remainder of the season.

With Austin Wiley and Justin Smith sidelined, the team coached by Yonatan Alon was looking for a reinforcement in the paint.

“I am excited to join Hapoel,” said Ogbeide, “There is a solid foundation here that is gaining momentum, and I am determined to integrate quickly into the team and contribute wherever and however the coach needs me. I bring a lot of athleticism to the table, rebounding and I love to bring a high pace and high energy.”

Introducing himself to the EuroCup stage, the former Georgia standout tallied 4.0 points and 2.4 rebounds per contest over five appearances with the team based in Ljubljana.

Meanwhile, the MVP of Rounds 1 and 6, Jared Harper suffered an eye injury in domestic action and was ruled out of the Round 7 affair versus Umana Reyer Venice in Arena Samokov on Wednesday night.

Elsewhere in EuroCup Group B, JL Bourg parted ways with 29-year-old Mehdy Ngouama. The French point guard navigating his third campaign in the second tier of Euroleague Basketball amounted to 7.5 points per game over six appearances.

“With ongoing discussions about adjustments in the one position, we can no longer guarantee Mehdy a role that meets his expectations,” explained sports consultant Francois Lamy.
