On a game that started with a moment of silence for the victims of the devastating floods in Spain, Valencia got the 63-59 road win in Thessaloniki against Aris Midea and remains the only perfect team in the BKT EuroCup standings, leading the race in Group B.
Semi Ojeleye with 13 points and 12 rebounds was the standout of the winning side, while the host team got 19 points from Trey Woodbury and 18 from Vasilis Toliopoulos.
Jean Montero’s two free throws sealed the deal for Valencia, and Aris, with 13 seconds left on the clock, couldn’t score as Toliopoulos missed two chances for a three-pointer.
Turk Telekom put on a show against Cluj-Napoca getting the 99-80 win.
Anthony Brown scored a career-high 39 points on a game to remember, entering the Top 10 on the all-time scoring charts for a single game.
Noam Dovrat, with 17 points, was the first among equals in Reyer Venice’s 92-67 win in Samokov, Bulgaria.
Kyle Wiltjer scored 17 points for the losing side, which was not enough.
JL Bourge prevailed on the road over Cedevita Olimpija (90-83) despite Jaka Blazic’s big game with 23 points and nine rebounds.
Xavier Castaneda with 16 points was the top scorer of the winning side with finished the game with a 10-3 run in the last two minutes.
Lietkabelis destroyed the Hamburg Towers (91-68) with Mantas Rubstavicius stealing the show with 22 points.
In Group A, Buducnost needed overtime but got the 105-100 win over Ulm as Fletcher Magee scored 23 points and Justinian Jessup had 25 for the losing side.
With the game on the line, first Buducnost’s Kenan Kamenjas (15 p.) missed the chance to make the free throw after a goal-foul that tied the score at 90 in regulation and Karim Jallow (8 p.) missed the chance to win it for Ulm with a three.
The score was tied with 52 seconds left in extra time, but Jessup missed in the next possession for Ulm, Yogi Ferrel (17 p.) scored a big three for Buducnost (103-100) and ultimately decided the game. Alfonso Plummer (8 p.) had one last chance for a three to tie it all for Ulm, however he missed.
In the last game of the night, Matas Jogela stole the show, making one of two free throws with three seconds left and then stealing the ball from Andrew Albicy as BC Wolves got the big 68-66 road win over Gran Canaria.
Kristapas Zemaitis with 13 points was the top scorer of a dogfight while GranCa got 12 points by John Shurna. After this result, Gran Canaria dropped to 5-2 and Bahcesehir is alone on top of the group standings.
