Yam Madar officially parted ways with FC Bayern Munich on Thursday.
From the Turkish Airlines EuroLeague to the BKT EuroCup, his next stop is with Hapoel Shlomo Tel Aviv, as confirmed by the German club.
Per the press release: “Farewell from Munich: Yam Madar is leaving FC Bayern Basketball with immediate effect, as the German champion honors the 23-year-old point guard’s request. Madar is returning to his home country of Israel, where he has signed a long-term contract with top-tier club Hapoel Tel Aviv.
Madar, originally from near Tel Aviv, joined Bayern this summer from Fenerbahce Istanbul and had signed a contract running until 2026. This agreement has now been terminated for a transfer fee.
“Yam approached us in recent days with the request to make a move back to his homeland possible. We wish him all the best for his future,” said FCBB sporting director Dragan Tarlac on Thursday. “We will now assess whether we need to take any further action regarding our roster.”
For Bayern, Madar played in all eight Bundesliga games (4.3 points per game, 12:20 minutes) as well as in the cup. In the EuroLeague, he participated in five games (4.2 points per game, 11:56 minutes).

Back to the second tier of Euroleague Basketball, Madar carries the experience of 17 appearances in the 2021-22 edition of the 7DAYS EuroCup with Partizan. Over the next three years, he played in 73 EuroLeague games with Partizan, Fenerbahce, and Bayern.

The Israeli club later announced his arrival, noting the contract lasts until the end of the 2026-27 season.
“There is nothing happier than returning home, to the place I came as a teenager,” Madar referred to starting his professional career with Hapoel Tel Aviv in 2018, “I thank the owner Ofer Yannay for the many efforts he made and I appreciate it very much. I am excited and eager to meet my teammates and reunite with the Red crowd.”
