Returning to the BKT EuroCup after nine appearances with the London Lions, Miye Oni is a new player of Joventut Badalona.

Oni, 27, inked a contract for the remainder of the 2024-25 season, the team announced on Monday.

During the 2022-23 edition of the 7DAYS EuroCup, fellow former NBA player Sam Dekker was among his teammates. The Los Angeles native, also a Nigerian citizen and member of the senior national team squad in the 2020 Olympic Games held in 2021, reunites with the 30-year-old forward at La Penya.

Coming out of Yale, Oni was selected by the Golden State Warriors with the 58th overall pick of the 2019 NBA draft. His rights were traded to the Utah Jazz, launching a stint lasting into the 2021-22 Regular Season. His NBA career features 90 appearances with the Jazz, including ten in the 2020 and 2021 Playoffs.

In 2022-23 with the Lions, he tallied 11.1 points, 4.6 rebounds, 3.4 assists, and 1.1 steals per contest over nine games, including eight starts, besides domestic trophies stretching from the BBL championship to the BBL Cup. Last season, he played in the G League with the Osceola Magic.

The elite defender meets the team coached by Daniel Miret at 3-8 in Group A of the EuroCup Regular Season. At 6-5 in Spain’s Liga Endesa, the immediate challenge is reaching the 2025 Copa del Rey as one of the top eight seeds at the midway point of the Regular Season.
