Considering potential options beyond Joventut Badalona is far from the attention of 30-year-old combo forward Sam Dekker

Sam Dekker rejected a recently reported link between him and Real Madrid, noting playing duties with Joventut Badalona.

“I play for Joventut Badalona and that is all I’m focused on,” he wrote in a post shared on his X account on Tuesday morning.

Between initially inking a one-month contract in November and an extension confirmed in December, he is set to become a free agent on January 18.

Dekker, 30, resurfaced in the second-tier club continental competition of Euroleague Basketball since moving his talents to La Penya. He put up 9.8 points and 5.0 rebounds per BKT EuroCup game over six appearances, including five starts. Expanding his displays in Spain’s Liga Endesa, he is up to 14.3 points per ACB contest over seven games.

Coming out of a successful NCAA run with Wisconsin, the Sheboygan native was selected with the 18th overall pick of the 2015 NBA draft. He went on to record 205 NBA appearances between the Houston Rockets, Los Angeles Clippers, Cleveland Cavaliers, Washington Wizards, and Toronto Raptors, besides using overseas options to compete in the United Kingdom, Turkiye, and Russia, before the ongoing experience in Spain.

Dekker is a veteran of 43 EuroCup games, spread from Badalona to the London Lions and Lokomotiv Kuban, and also logged 12 appearances in the Basketball Champions League with Turk Telekom and ten in the FIBA Europe Cup on the way to becoming champion of FIBA Europe’s second-tier club continental competition with Bahcesehir Koleji,
