After U-BT Cluj-Napoca, Turk Telekom Ankara, and Cedevita Olimpija, the 2022 BKT EuroCup winners, Dreamland Gran Canaria, have also made it to the quarterfinals.

Jaka Lakovic’s side won a narrow battle against Umana Reyer Venice, securing the victory in front of their fans with a final score of 84-80. They will face Hapoel Bank Yahave Jerusalem in the next round.

Even though Gran Canaria had control for most of the first half, Neven Spahija’s side turned the tables in the third period. However, the Spanish team still managed to hold a slight advantage heading into the decisive final 10 minutes, leading 63-62.

Joe Thomasson took over in the final two minutes, scoring six points in a row to give his team an 80-75 lead. However, it was Pierre Pelos’ three-pointer with 15 seconds left on the clock that sealed the victory for Lakovic’s team.

In the end, Medhy Ngouama led the scoring for the winners with 18 points, Mike Tobey followed with 14 points and seven rebounds, while Nicolas Brussino and Thomasson each added 12 points. Pelos finished the game with nine points and five rebounds.

Venice bowed out despite Tyler Ennis, Jordan Parks, and Aamir Simms each scoring 15 points, with Mfiondu Kabengele adding eight points and 12 rebounds.
