Valencia and Hapoel Shlomo Tel Aviv are set to complete a best-of-three series for a berth in the Finals of the 2024-25 BKT EuroCup. Game 3 is scheduled to take place in La Fonteta on Wednesday.
Citing incidents in Game 2, the Oranges announced a decision to restrict attendance to season-ticket holders.
“Given the situation that occurred in the second game of the semifinal tie in Bulgaria, and taking into account precedents, Valencia Basket has decided not to put tickets on sale for Wednesday’s game and that are only their season ticket holders who can enjoy the game,” noted the press release on Monday.
“The Club will provide Hapoel only the minimum of 50 tickets required by the competition and since there is no way to control, without discrimination, the sale of tickets for the game, this will not take place.”
“The Club encourages all its fans to not lower themselves to respond at any time to the behavior that had to suffer by rival fans in the second game of the tie, and to demonstrate, once again in this decisive match, the values that always characterize the Taronja fans.”
On Saturday, Euroleague Basketball announced a fine on the Israeli club for offensive chants by the fans during Friday’s contest in Arena Samokov.
Per the press release: “Hapoel Shlomo Tel Aviv has been sanctioned with a fine of €4,000 for the offensive chants performed by its fans, on occasion of the BKT EuroCup Semifinals Game 2 between Hapoel Shlomo Tel Aviv and Valencia Basket, under Article 29.2.f) of the Euroleague Basketball Disciplinary Code.”
After Game 3, the advancing team would strengthen a bid to play in the 2025-26 edition of the Turkish Airlines EuroLeague.
