AEK approaching Eurocup

Although nothing is officially confirmed yet, AEK will most likely participate in competitions organized by Euroleague during the following years.

The Greek club points out that there are ongoing talks with both Euroleague and FIBA, and their final decision will arrive tomorrow. However, participation in Eurocup seems to be the most likely scenario. The second meeting that took place a while ago between the president of AEK, Makis Aggelopoulos, and Jordi Bertomeu played a big part in this decision.

Earlier today, Gazzetta Dello Sport reported that Unicaja Malaga, Valencia, Gran Canaria, Lietuvos Rytas, Alba Berlin, Brose Baskets, Bayern Munich and Galatasaray have also said “yes” to Euroleague’s proposal. But, as of now, none of these teams have confirmed something as of now.
