Thanks to a stunning all-around performance by Curtis Jerrells who came close to a triple-double (18 points, 9 rebounds, 7 assists), Hapoel Jerusalem stayed undefeated in Eurocup by beating Lokomotiv Kuban 90 – 79.
Although the Russian team entered the match… like a boss (25 – 31 at the end of the first quarter), the hosts quickly recovered and incredibly outplayed their opponents to score 60 points in the next 20 minutes while receiving only 28.
Everything became easier for coach Pianigiani’s players which won comfortably in the end. Apart from Jerrell’s fantastic effort, Jerome Dyson dropped 17 points and Tarence Kinsey 10.
Four players (Taylor Rochestie 18 points, Dmitry Khvostov 15, Ian Vougioukas 13, Mardy Collins 13) of the guests scored in double-digit numbers but the major issues came on the defensive end for Lokomotiv Kuban which now has a 2-1 record in the competition.
