In the first of the two all-Spanish clashes for this Week in Eurocup, Fuenlabrada closed the game in a stunning way against Bilbao to win 89 – 78 at home.
With the score 69 – 68 and everything up for grabs into the fourth quarter, Fuenlabrada completed an incredible 19 – 4 partial score in five minutes to leave its opponents behind for good.
Marko Popovic (17 points) and Ian O’ Leary (14 points, 10 rebounds) were the protagonists for the hosts during the above timeframe, while Ludde Hakanson added 14 points with 4/7 from downtown.
22 points were delivered by Scott Bamforth to Bilbao, most of them before the fourth period blackout that doomed his team.
