The transfer of Maik Zirbes to Bayern Munich is now official, as the German club announced. The 26-year-old center is loaned to the Bavarians by Maccabi Tel Aviv until the end of the season.
The 26-year-old center is going back to his home country for the first time since 2014, when he played for Brose Bamberg. On summer, he signed a two-year contract with Maccabi after an impressive season with Crvena Zvezda.
With the Israelis he has averaged 8.1 points and 3 rebounds in 15 minutes of playing time per game in EuroLeague. Maccabi is struggling at a 6 – 12 record, being second to last in the competition’s standings.
